Slightly nutty, with a hint of sweetness and a specific lentil flavour - the perfect combination of ingredients. This is one of my favourite bread spreads. You can spoil it very easily by adding canned peas instead of frozen or fresh peas. Then we can say goodbye to the sweetness and green colour of the paste.
Ingredients:
- 200 g of onion
- 200 g frozen green peas (or fresh)
- 150 g of cooked brown lentils
- 50 g of walnuts
- 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast
- 1/4 tsp of black "kala namak" salt
- salt, pepper
- olive oil
Instructions:
- Dice the onion and fry in olive oil until soft.
- Add salt and pepper. Stir and set aside to cool.
- Cook peas and lentils. Strain it and set aside to cool.
- Put all the ingredients into a blender and mix into a paste.
- Add salt and pepper.
- Walnut, lentil and green pea spread tastes great on a slice of homemade bread or crispbread.
