Dal (dahl) - Indian curry, can be prepared from various legumes, the most common is red lentil dal. Curry with wild rice and tomato sauce is my favorite set. Easy to make, filling and fiery, just perfect for the winter season. Preparation time approx. 20 minutes !!!
Ingredients:
- 200 g uncooked red lentil
- 600 ml hot water
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1 tsp vegetable seasoning (dried mix vegetables, salt, turmeric, granulated garlic - mince and store in a jar)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp basil
- 6 tbsp coconut cream
tomato sauce:
- 5 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp roman cumin
- 1/2 tsp black mustard
- 1/2 tsp fenugreek
- 1 red onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- 150g tomato passata
toppings: rice, millet, tomato sauce etc.
Instructions:
- Rinse the lentils.
- Pour water to the pot. Add seasoning and bring to boil.
- Add lentils and cook, covered for 13-15 minutes.
- Pour coconut cream and cook 2-3 minutes.
- Blend a little.
- In the meantime pour olive oil to the pan.
- Add seasoning and stir 1 minute.
- Add diced red onion, garlic and cook until softened.
- Add tomato passata and cook 5 minutes. Tomato sauce is ready!
- Red lentil dahl serve with toppings: rice, millet, tomato sauce.
- If you don't have any extras, don't worry it's going to be delicious as well.
