What are plantains?
The plantains only look like yellow bananas. You cannot eat them raw. Their flavour is similar to potatoes, so they can be added to vegetables or stews. But the simplest and most popular are plantain chips.
Ingredients:
- 3 plantains
- salt
- pepper
- chili powder
- oil
Instructions:
- Peel plantains (help yourself by cutting the skin along the length).
- Cut it into slices.
- Season with salt, pepper and chili powder.
- Pour oil into a frying pan.
- Fry plantain until browned (chips should be submerged and surrounded by hot cooking oil).
- Drain the plantain chips on a paper towel.
